How I Became a Witch
A Fantasy Novel
While buying herself yet another years' birthday presents, fifteen year old Chase Carlisle discovers a magic shop hidden in the local mall. She stocks up on books and supplies and starts learning actual magic.
Soon she finds a group of local peers who also novice witches. Together they help each other advance in their magical skill. Yet among her new friends there's trouble brewing. An evil witch is out trying to make an army of evil-magic practicing teens.
Follow Chase as she and her friends learn and grow in their magical ability and sometimes manage to put a stop to town menaces.

Chase Carlisle is used to her busy, money obsessed parents always being gone and not noticing her when she's around. She is used to depending on herself for most things. When she goes to the mall for birthday shopping, she discovers a hidden store selling magical supplies. Chase stocks up on magic supplies, and gets started on the path of becoming a witch.
Soon she discovers a local group of young novice witches that help each other advance. Together they rack up levels in their magic practice and use their abilities to achieve their goals. The group becomes concerned when one teen gets a mentor that encourages her anger at the world and everyone in it, and arms her with knowledge of evil magic. Chase and her friends start to become aware of all the threats in the local magical community.
From an outspoken vampire looking to turn the world into a bloodbath of human vs vampire, or sleazy hypnotist running a sham therapist practice, there are plenty of things for a magic aware teen to watch out for!
Story
Characters
Chase Carlisle- Mischievous, independent and a fast learner. Chase likes spending money, drawing her comics and cruising the mall. She is a bored and often lonely teen looking for a new hobby
Blaise D'Aubert- A rambunctious teen from way down south who revels in flying and racing with any magic device he can get his hands on
Jordan Whickett- A nerdy potion whiz who has made a figurine business with her skills.
Jewel Warren- A cheerful social girl from one of the biggest local families, who enjoys DIY crafts and reading fortunes.
Tybalt Warren- Jewel's cousin. A fight happy teen who took up magic to increase his fighting prowess and look for fresh new opponents.
Tim "Monte" Montegomery- A theater kid who took up magic to enhance the level of his school's theater club and became enamored with the world of magic.
Dahlia LeFay-A wealthy heiress who's angry at the world and people as a whole, with a rather unhealthy interest in curses and a toxic mentor.
Trixie Borealis- A witch who mentors Dahlia and other teens and is possibly teaching them rather evil magic.
World
The HIBAW verse has many facets of magic, magical creatures and a parallel realm of magic users that allows new mages in and out when they turn 16 years of age.
The Magic Realm is a world of fairytale mixed with modern, ruled by monarchies and houses of lords and ladies. It's a place where you can whip your smart phone out to take a picture, but carriages are pulled by Alicorns (unicorns but with WINGS) . There are seven known lands and celebrations for every season. Fairies send messages and rainbows attract leprechauns. Mermaids swim alongside with dolphins and fish.
The best part of it is that anyone who wants learn can practice magic, and you can come and go from the Magical Realm. Once you're of age, that is.
